Holiday Hairstyles

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!

I hope everyone is finished wrapping gifts! (FYI: I haven't even started lol) I keep forgetting to purchase tape. Anywho, I wanted to share our Holiday Hairstyle. N LOVES it!!! I do too!! Mostly because it only took 20 minutes to complete! Plus our neighbor came over just to take a picture of N's hair to share with her family. <--how cool is that! Can you tell what design is in her hair??

Do you see the tree!!

This style is pretty simple.

1.) I parted the shape of a tree in the middle of her hair.

2.) I slid beads in the center of the tree design. Then I placed all of the hair into a bow.

3.) I created small cornbraids around the tree.

4.) Next, I added two (two- strand twists) ponytails in the front of her hair. I placed a few beads on the ends for decoration.

The yellow bead is the star lol

Products Used:
Darcy's Botanical Shea Butter Moisturizer
Shea Butter Mix
Rubberbands
Beads
Eco Styler Gel
Note: Her hair was freshly washed the previous day. We used Blended Beauty Herbal Reconditioner, Bee Mine Shampoo, and we did a hot oil treatment, prior to wash.

Happy 4th Of July/ National Afro Day

I hope everyone is enjoying the day!
Here is our style for the fourth, I was inspired by our friend A Story Of A Princess And Her Hair

Sorry about the upside down American Flag bows lol

The lighting stinks at Walmart

We did two styles for N, today is also National Afro Day!

Groovy Girl!

Here is a lovely 4th of July style submitted by our friend Jamillah on Facebook.

Isn't it cute?! You did a great job, thanks for sharing!

Happy Valentines Day!

N had a Valentines Dance at school, so I did a Braided Ponytail with some cute pink and white accessories and pink beads from the Curly Princess Hair Boutique.

Start with moisturized hair.

1.) I started braiding in the the back of her hair, by making a part and braid going up, towards the center of her hair.
2.)  I continued braiding going all around her hair.
3.) I secure all of the braids into a ponytail holder.
4.) I added Tri-colored pink beads to the ends of her hair.

*If you dont know how to braid I would recommend this site http://learncornrows.com/step1.html

Products used:
Wide tooth comb
Bee Mine Hair and Scalp Moisturizer (review coming soon..)
*Reminder: The Contest for the book Wild, Wild Hair is still going on click here to enter.

Black History Month

Hello Everyone! In honor of Black History Month, I wanted to dedicate this post to all of the millions who have died and fought for freedom. Without their courage my kids, and millions of other kids, would of lived in a horrible country, torn apart by the color of one's skin. Never Forget!!

New Hair Resolution!!

Happy New Year!!!!

I hope 2012 will be a wonderful year for all of you!!

I decided that with my New Year Resolution, I will also include a *New Hair* Resolution when it comes to my and my daughters hair. My New Hair Resolution will be.... to begin teaching N how to properly care for her hair, even though she is 6 she can begin to learn the basic steps ex. first we shampoo and we will do it every saturday/sunday and we always use a conditioner and etc.
Even though, I wish she would stay young forever, she is growing up !! That's our New Hair Resolution, whats yours?
