Product Review: Snapaholics

If you are not already addicted to hair bling for your little one, you soon will be! We provide all the hair decorations you could possibly need for rockin' cornrows, twists, braids, extensions, or any other style you could possibly dream up.

I was given the amazing opportunity to review Snapaholics
They have such a wide selection of hair accessories, it was hard to chose which item to review. But we decided to review the wooden beads, rat tail comb, shell beads, and satin pillowcase!

Small Light Brown Wood Beads

We loved the wooden beads, really cute to rock and since they are neutral colored they go with everything!

Shell Beads

These shells added such a nice island-earthy flair to our hairstyle!
Hard to use with the hair beader, but if you slide it in through the gap, the hair will go in perfectly!

Silky Satin Pillow Case

Of course, you have to keep the hairstyle fresh by using either a sleeping cap, or a satin pillowcase.
Really helps to reduce the frizzies!

Pin Tail Comb

How do so many people make really nice clean parts.
This tool is the key! Straight lines, every time!

For our readers overseas, Snapaholics ships internationally! They even have hairstyle videos, and sell sidewinders. Be sure to check them out at http://www.snapaholics.com You could also click on their ad, on the left side of this blog, or visit them on facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/snapaholicshaircare.

Floating Beaded Hairstyle

Hello darlings!
We had a very busy summer. Roadtrip, visiting family out of town, swimming lessons, gymnastics, taekwondo, boxing, concerts, and more. So as you can imagine, it was difficult to find time to blog like I used too. Now, that the school year has started (she is in 3rd grade now.) We will be back to our regular posting on here. But I made sure to keep everyone updated on Lady N's hair journey over on  our facebook fan page here: https://www.facebook.com/KandyLandKurls
I posted this photo earlier this summer, and a few people wanted a tutorial.
So here we go!

Ohhhh lala, look how they are floating!!

Ready for me to reveal the magic on how to do this!
Well its VERY simple.
No need for a step by step tutorial.
You simply braid, then stop at your desired spot where you would like the bead to be. Then either using a beading wand or your fingers. Slide the bead onto the hair. Then push it up a bit, then continue braiding down the hair shaft.
Easy Peasy.
The beads help create this really cute levitating look.

Product Review: The Bead Barrette

The Bead Barrette is an exciting and unique hair accessory designed for girls of all ages! Created by a mom who is also a former hair accessories buyer, The Bead Barrette was designed with one goal in mind... to make hair prettier....faster by adding beautiful beads into your hair

Review: Where have you been all my LIFE! Do you know how much of a pain in the tush it is to put beads on the hair? Without it falling all over the floor, or the worry of a baby swallow beads, and you can't forget the rubberband ripping your ends off. Well, The Bead Barrette has come to the rescue!

It's so simple to use, simply open the bead barrette with the little stick (comes in the pack) and it pops open. Inside of the bead barrette is little teeth, which helps to grasp the hair. Position the barrette to the section you wish to attach it to. Then you simply clamp shut, it's the very same process to attach a regular barrette. The best part, is you can attach it to loose hair. Not only twisted or braided hair, but all types, which is totally sweet!

As you can see in the photo above, I attached it to the middle of N's braids to not put stress on her ends, and they held perfectly in place all day. The Bead Barrette comes in Black, White, Clear, and Pink, and can be found in Walmart. I definitely recommend the bead barrette, it saves so much time and hassle.

Ingredients: Water, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Cocamidoprpyl Hydroxysultaine, glyceryl Stearate, PEG-150 Pentaerithtityl Tetrastearate, PEG-6 Caprylic, Panthenol, Vitamin E, Argan Oil, Coconut Oil, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, Silk Amino Acids, Hydrolyuzed Wheat Protein, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol, Methylisothiazolinone, Citric Acid.

Review: Since the last day of school, N's hair has been neglected (sad face, I know, bad mommy!)  But it wasn't very dirty, so I figured this is the perfect time to use the moisturizing shampoo. I didn't want to strip her hair, due to her going swimming soon, so a moisturizing shampoo was the perfect fit to try.
I proceeded to wash N's hair with the Coconut Elixir Moisturizing shampoo. First thing I noticed off the bat was the scent, it smells delicious! I love the smell of coconuts, the scent is strong, so for those who are sensitive, you have been warned. I applied a generous amount, and immediately it created suds!! After trying so many different moisturizing shampoos. It's disappointing that many don't create a really good lather. I love suds and lather, makes me feel like the hair is clean (not technically true.) But a good lather is mostly found in sulfate shampoo, so to have it in a moisturizing shampoo is awesome!! After rinsing her hair felt clean. Not all stripped, which is exactly what I wanted, and exactly what this product claims to do. I will definitely use this again, and the price is not bad at all for $10.00.

Coconut Love "Co-Wash" Moisture Rich Conditioner

Goin’ NaturalTMCoconut Love “Co-Wash” Moisture Rich Conditioner is a unique blend of coconut oil and natural humectants that will shower your hair with LOVE … by restoring hydration, detangling the roots and locking in moisture.

Ingredients: Water, Petroleum, Glycerin, Cetrimonium Chloride, Cetearyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Polysorbate 60, Butylene Glycol, Phenyl trimethicone, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine Stearate, PEG-12 Dimethicone, Glyceryl Tricetyl Ricinoleate, Acetamide MEA, Latamide MEA, PEG-7 Amodimethicone, Hydroxypropyl Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Butyrospernum Parkii (shea) Butter, Argania Spinsoa (argan) Kernel Oil, Cocos Nucifera (coconut) Oil, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein PG- Propyl Silanetriol, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Panthenol, Tocopheryl (vitamin E) Acetate, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Fragrance, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Methysothiazolinone, Citric Acid.

Review: After shampooing, I applied the coconut Co-wash to her hair in sections. The scent is the same as the shampoo. The consistency was liquidy, not too thick, but not like water either. Inbetween-ish. Hope that doesn't confuse ya lol. I was weary of the petroleum in it, but I gave it a try anyways. Now I followed the directions on the jar, and left it in her hair for approx 4 minutes, then rinse. It was not thick enough to detangle with for N's hair. Perhaps if her hair was shorter, or even finer, I could detangle better. But I managed to gently finger detangle her hair. As the time passed, her hair began to dry, so I couldn't finish finger detangling without having to use a ton of it, so I just rinsed it out. I don't really co-wash her hair, but this is definitely light, doesn't leave a residue, and easy to rinse out. That's why I think this is a pretty good co-wash. But it was not a good detangling co-wash conditioner for N's hair. But again, if you are looking for something that fits this description then give it a try.

Qoileez! Product Review!

It's been awhile since we've reviewed a product, and we had a wonderful opportunity to review Qoileez!

Qoileez!

"Made out of stretchy plastic ~ you can put 'em in your hair to update your favorite style. Put 'em on your pencil to add some fun. Does someone you love knit? They're sure to be a hit!  There are so many great ways to use Qoileez!"

purple leopard
very cherry stars

Here is the pack of Qoileez that we reviewed.

 (close up picture)

Funny Story: A boy in N's class who always compliments her (I think he has a crush...don't worry my bat is ready ;)
Well anywho, he asked her "Hey! how'd did you get that bead way up there on your braids?"
N replied "I dont know?!"
Smart cookie, leave him wondering.

Well the answer to his question is quite simple. I slid the Qoileez on, like how you would a bead. It's not rocket science lol and it's such an adorable accessory. I give it 5 stars!

I added regular blue and clear beads, on the ends of her hair, to compliment the Qoileez

Here are some pics of N and her hairstyle of simple cornrows.

Now you know how much we love our readers! Yall been rocking with us for almost 3 years. Qoileez is graciously going to host a giveaway (yippee) so be on the lookout for the announcement!
