Do you remember the post awhile ago
(The Virtual Playdate Update)
In the post I mentioned how I had a "surprise."
Well here it is..."I gave N a trim!!
It may not be a big deal, but to me it is, I STINK at cutting!
I used to cut my Barbies hair and let's just say....she ended up looking like this..
Okay, minus the spider legs thingy going on..but you got the point!
But N's hair, came out great!
I banded her hair for two days.
Here is a picture of her hair stretched out
Here is another one, as you can see it is lower back length.
I unraveled the banded hair, and applied some moisturizer.
I combed her hair all the way down, and gripped with my two fingers her hair into place.
I didn't take alot of hair off, and I didn't try to make her hair even. I simply wanted to remove her jagged ends.
(Ignore her silly face lol)
This is after we were finished.
This was N's first time getting a trim.
Has your child received a trim/cut? If so, how did the process go? and did you do it yourself?
I JUST TRIMMED MY BABY GIRLS HAIR THE OTHER DAY AND IT WENT PRETTY GOOD. HER HAIR HAS BEEN IN MINI BRAIDS FOR ABOUT A WEEK NOW AND I JUST TOOK EACH BRAID AND SNIPPED A LITTLE OFF, NOT TO MUCH. LIKE U SAID I WAS JUST TRYING TO GET RID OF SOME OF THE JAGGED ENDS.
ReplyDeleteGreat Job!!! I had a hair nightmare when Des was about 3, her hair was about MBL and I took her for a trim for no specific reason. Anyway the young lady told me she was familiar with cutting curly hair, should have never believed it the minute she picked up the water bottle. Long story short she took Des' hair up to her ears after shrinkage. I cried.
ReplyDeleteI recently dusted my friends daughter's hair, it made a world of difference.
I trimmed my 6yr olds hair by leaving it in twist. I didn't want to cut too much but just dust the ends. You did a good job she seems to still have all her hair. LOL (I know about those Barbies)
ReplyDeleteBlessings
A got her trim the day we started the protective challenge. her ends were lookin a mess from overuse of the tangle teezer =( she had a ton of single strand knots. i ended up cutting about an inch and a half off and it made a world of a difference. she got most of that growth back during the protective challenge =) i will NEVER trust anyone other than myself to cut her hair. i've had to many traumatizing experiences to be brave enough to let someone else cut her hair.
ReplyDeleteHer hair looks awesome!!
ReplyDeleteNice post, Yay for the first haircut! But the best part is how N is looking at your blog in the banding pic! Awesome product placement Kandy, lol!
ReplyDeleteI have always cut GDL's hair. And by cut I mean chopped. A few weeks ago I did an actual "trim" similar to your method. I showed restraint, cut off only the scraggly ends, just like you. I'm gonna try to wait at least a year for her next trim, just because I know me and my scissor-happy tendencies...
@ Michelle that sucks! I would probably cry!
Thanks so much everyone! I was so scared to trim her hair, but I learned from Michelle's experience that it is probably best to do it yourself.
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job!!! So awesome! You took off JUST enough!! YAAAAAAAY MOMMY!!
ReplyDelete(Love your blog, btw)

Yes, I will trim my kids bangs ... I am not even good at that! But, I don't want to run to the salon every few weeks!
ReplyDeleteNote I have moved my blog to http://daniellepender.com/ I would appreciate a comment and a follow there too - thanks!

LOVELY! She has such a gorgeous head of hair <3! So healthy too!!!
ReplyDeleteI trimmed my daughter Be's Hair 6 or 7 months ago. She was concerned that I was going to cut all of her hair off. I ensures her that I wouldn't cut her hair off. Once she relaxed, the process went well. I guess I need to trim it again.
ReplyDeleteThis is of great inspiration to me, as I'm planning on giving my little girl her first trim this Fall! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the pictures and inspiration!! I am actually starting to look forward to Q's first trim now!
